It took us 4 days to completely sand and paint the hull. First, we sanded the hull with random orbit sanders. We wore lots of protective gear for this job, since the black powder from sanding got everywhere. Then we painted the hull with a red undercoat so that we’ll know when it’s time to repaint. Next came a second coat of black ablative paint, which helps protect the hull from barnacles.
