Boat projects take a really long time…

I have been trying to compile pictures of all of the projects I have done since buying Creeky with the intent of publishing all of them on this blog to document my progress.  Part of the reason for doing this is to share updates with friends and family, but it’s also selfishly so I can look back at what I’ve actually gotten done.  As anyone who has followed these updates knows, I haven’t been very good at actually sharing anything in the way of updates aside from the occasional rambling update post.  Allow me to add to that trend now.

Thanks to Carrie’s help with the website I’ve got a much better platform for documenting progress that will allow for eventual expansion when our updates include adventure sailing.  As I’ve been going through and organizing the hundreds (possibly thousands) of pictures I’ve been taking since I first saw Creeky I have also amazed myself with how far she’s come.  It’s also amazing how much is left to do.  Progress, while steady, sometimes seems very slow.

Going through the pictures has once again reminded me of how much help I’ve gotten from some great friends.  Thanks again to everyone who has helped over the past few years; especially Carrie, Brian, Jesse, Nikolas, Jennilee, Nick, Megan, Matt, Tom, and Nancy, to name a few.  I’d include my Mom and Dad, but drinking on the boat occasionally doesn’t really count as “help.”

I also need to give special thanks to Henry and Birgitta, who just came up to visit for lunch this week.  These are two of the most amazing people I have had the good fortune to get to know through the Creeky adventure.  When I first met them it was strictly business to get that darn mast out of the yard.  Since then I have come to love them like family.  They are truly wonderful people who seem to be getting younger every time I see them.  Their schedules are so busy I feel lazy every time I talk to them!  More on them later.

Well that’s enough rambling for one evening.  I promise I am working on posting more frequently, but it’s tough to work, build a boat, and write about it at the same time.  Please poke me once in a while to post an update if you think of it and it’s been too long.  It will really help.
